Full-time UX Lead

The UX Lead at Pomegranate is responsible for the direction of UX excellence within the agency. The position requires experience in both practicing hands-on design combined with the development of Pomegranate’s design methodology and techniques.

We’re looking for a dynamic individual with the confidence to influence and guide clients. You’ll be the voice of the end user, surrounded by a growing team of smart, highly-capable people in an environment that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing. You’ll work closely with our clients and their customers as well as our talented multi-disciplined team.
The role requires an ambitious individual looking to take a mature development in their career but who still very much enjoys being hands-on.

You’ll be a strategic thinker who believes that problems are most effectively solved through exploration, understanding and design thinking. Your focus will be on guiding design and research efforts on projects and iteratively delivering an end product / solution as part of a cross-functional team that use both waterfall and agile project delivery methods.

You will be able to use best in class method to; identify user needs, apply advanced UX analysis to deliver   market-differentiating,  high-quality,   highly   interactive,   high performance   digital touch  points   that   match   or   exceed   customer   expectations. Your ability to design and evaluate digital experiences will actively support the development of the agency’s UX capability.

You will be confident:
• Taking client requirements and structuring the user experience brief
• Developing design solutions and following them through to completion /testing /launch
• Working to support the management team with pitch work
• Collaborating closely with the developers to ensure interactions and behaviour are thought through to the finished product
• Line managing junior members of the UX team, through both delegation and collaboration
• Providing active input into commercial decisions for the UX division
• Championing user centred design internally and to clients

You should have:
• Demonstrable experience of UX design in an agency environment
• Evidence of design leadership regarding people, culture and projects
• Proven understanding of collaborative, user-centred design methods
• Experience of designing enterprise applications for desktop, mobile or web
• An appetite for creating simple solutions to complex problems
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Intimate familiarity with design techniques such as design studio workshops, journey mapping and empathy mapping
• The skills and tooling knowledge to bring application designs to life, from sketches to wireframes and storyboards to high fidelity mock-ups and click-through prototypes
• The ability to adapt and learn on the job
• Experience working as a team in order to get the best results
• Knowledge of different approaches to solve UX problems

In addition, the following knowledge /experience would be useful but is not essential:
• To have an interest in the psychology of digital experience
• Development of methodologies
• Competence in using the Adobe Creative Suite
• A relevant design degree
• iOS/Android design experience
